Our specialised litigation department comprises four directors, one consultant and four professional assistants. In addition the department has various specialised units dealing in particular areas of the law. These areas of specialisation include the :

COMMERCIAL DISPUTES

We do our best to resolve commercial disputes promptly by giving practical advice at the outset with a view to avoiding unnecessary litigation. Disputes that cannot be resolved in this way are only pursued in court with a view to achieving results and adding value. This is in keeping with our businesslike approach to clients' affairs.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS

All forms of damages claims are handled. We give advice on the merits and quantum of each case and in appropriate cases are prepared to do this sort of work on risk.

INSURANCE LAW

We service a number of large insurance companies and brokers. We give advice on all aspects of insurance law and are proud of the close relationships that we enjoy with our clients in this field.

LABOUR DISPUTES

We offer expert advice in all areas of labour law. We have recently acquired specialised expertise regarding compliance with the Employment Equity Act and have held workshops and training seminars for our larger clients to assist them in complying with the law.

INSOLVENCY

We are able to offer expertise in sequestration or liquidation as a means of debt recovery. In appropriate cases, we offer such advice to our clients as a means of restructuring their own affairs. Our advice is given only on a value added basis.

MATRIMONIAL LAW

We handle all aspects of divorce law. Disputes are dealt with in a businesslike manner. Clients are assured of a cost-effective practical result in an area of law which is often clouded by emotion and malice.

GENERAL
